some GTA4... not much was thinking of playing Age of Conan which starts at end of month I just picked this one up. Getting away from Elves and Gnomes sounded kinda refreshing! I was hoping with 2 recent MMO's having fairly clean launches, (Lotro and PotBS) AoC would follow suit. Alas, no. We once again have one that was released too soon with bugs. *sigh* Takes a hefty system too as they went for more realistic graphics. Lots of promise though. The combat system is quite different and will attract and turn-off lots of people for sure. If anyone else picked this one up, I'm on Dagoth server. P.S. Anyone wanting more info please let me know.

I'm enjoying it!
IMO: The good: Graphics are sweet, although you need a hefty system to run it. While the quests are still considered "cookie-cutter", I found them to be more in-depth, not as many "kill 10 of these, loot 20 of these", and fun to do. In the starter area (levels 1-20) you interact with the quest-giver, and they NPC's all speak the parts. Combat system is different, which will attract and turn-off lots of people. Keys 1,2,3 all represent swinging your melee weapon, with 1 hitting from the left, 2 hitting over the head, and 3 from the right. The mob will adapt their defenses as such. You keep hitting from the right, they'll start blocking from that direction more. Your special attacks (what they call combo's) are your normal "put on the shortcut bar" attacks that do more damage or "effects-over-time" that you use in combination with your normal melee attacks. Special things can happen if you do certain combo's in a certain order, like a head decapitation. Very cool. LOL ;D
The Bad: Bugs. I personally haven't encountered many, and the ones I have aren't show-stoppers, however I think lots of people have. VRAM leaks are something I've seen. People getting stuck, not being able to complete quests, etc. Game definitely could have used more fine-tuning based on comments I've seen. However, it is hard to tell as with any game, if you go to the main forums you'd think this was the worst game on the planet.
The Real Bad: AH, Bank, and In-game mail are all absent. It's coming, but quite frankly I have no clue how a game could ship without them.
*EDIT* My bad. They were in, got removed by some reason...now back in again.
General: You start off on a island, amnesia, having just fallen off a slave-trader ship. You slowly make your way to the city of "Tortage" which is the main hub for levels 1-20. You can choose to play at night or during the day. During the day the game is an MMO. At night it is a single-player in which you do your "destiny quest". This quest line must be completed before you can leave the island and hit the mainland which is for levels 20+. Once you reach the mainland, it is all MMO with night and day alternating at normal intervals.
One other cool thing. Each area has "instances." (not referring to dungeons). Let's say you are out on the beach killing pirates. Well, so are about 20 other people. You can click a little drop down at the top, and choose 1 of 5 other instances. This will transfer you to another instance, in which not as many people are playing in. Anyone who has played Guild Wars, and knows about choosing an instance while in the city will know what I am referring too.
Verdict: Me personally, I am really enjoying it. The "low-fantasy" setting is different, and I rather like the combat and the quests thus far.
However, if you aren't going crazy waiting to play this one, my recommendation is to wait until they get the missing features installed, and more bugs squashed before giving it a try.

So broke down and signed up for it. Playing a demonologist on BlueSteel server. So far pretty fun since I'm leveling with friends most of the time we do the ganking and do not get ganked ourselves. Hit me up if you are ever on bluesteel at Osylin
EDIT: Happy bday dail!

That's the consensus I'd gotten from a couple people out here but figured I'd see what you guys thought. Guess I'll keep to my lock until something really intrigues me. Honestly, the only thing I've seen screens of other than Lich King have been Diablo 3

I'm still with it, and having a good time! However, I haven't been playing as much due to staying busy with rl stuff.
Lots of people I see talking about Warhammer Online coming out next month. I'm curious to see what the verdict is on that one. Anyone playing the beta for it? I recently read the NDA got lifted.

I haven't heard anything about the beta yet. But then again I honeslty haven't had too much time for many games. Work's been busy and they keep sending me to Israel; which I highly recomend everyone to go visit. I mean seriously the people alone are worth the trip.

So while bored today I went back and just read through a lot of the good threads from back in the day. Made me get all nostalgic. Not sure if I have said this, might have who knows, but I Corna Faryun/Ros/Me officially apologizes for making everyone read and try to decipher my posts. I truly feel bad for such things lol.
P.S. Lets bring back dwaroks, they are awesome...that is all
